New 30 Hours Questionnaire20 Mar 2017
We are looking to implement the new 30-hour scheme within Chapel Lane Pre-School, from September 2017.
We need feedback from yourselves to work out the best way forward with this. Some of the ideas we have are: -
• To have a breakfast club each morning, starting at 8am.
• To open all day on Mondays, so that our sessions would be Monday – Thursday 8am-3pm, Fridays 8am-12pm
Please can we ask that you take a few moments to complete this questionnaire.
From September 2017, working parents of three and four-year old’s will be entitled to 1,140 hours of childcare a year which is free of charge. This equates to 30 hours per week if the childcare is taken during term time only, and around 23 hours per week spread across the year. This is double the 570 hours a year that three and four-year-old children currently receive.
Who is eligible?
The 30 hours’ free childcare will be available to families with children aged three and four where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family), and where each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum wage or living wage, and neither parent earns more than £100,000 per year. This includes employed and self-employed parents and those on zero hours’ contracts who meet the criteria
Q1. Having read the above criteria, are you eligible to receive the additional funding?
Q2. If no, would you be interested in placing your child into breakfast club at Pre-School, this would start at 8am at an additional cost to yourselves?
Q3. If you are eligible, would you use some or all of the additional funded hours?
Q4. Do you have any other ideas how we could implement the 30-hour scheme within Pre-School?
Thank you very much for you taking the time to answer these few questions.
